Tasting course
Tasting a wine in pleasant company is a relatively simple experience anyone can do. Basically, tasting could be defined as experiencing, analysing and appreciating the aromas and flavours of a product. Although all senses come into play, it is taste which is the most important, along with sight and smell. Bear in mind that the taste buds inside the mouth have been able to identify around 800 different components in a wine.
Bodegas Príncipe de Viana offers a simple tasting course, open to all wine aficionados, professional or otherwise, who seek to better enjoy savouring the very best wines.
In an appropriate setting, well lit, quiet, with no intrusive smoke or noise, the taster should use the right sort of fine, transparent glass and fill it to a third of its volume. If there are several wines to taste, the order will be from white wines to red wines and from young to old. It is best to taste wines before a meal so that other flavours do not intrude.
